Once you have contacted us you will be allocated a designated payroll specialist. They will discuss with you your specific needs and provide you with a service level agreement detailing our terms and conditions which set out what you can expect from us. Once we have agreed a start date with you, we will arrange to receive your data securely from your current provider.

No, we can smoothly transition your payroll to our service at any point in the year.

Yes, we can cater for any size payroll. Even a payroll with one or two employees needs to be properly managed to ensure they are paid correctly and that HMRC procedures are adhered to. As our costs are based on payslips produced you only pay for the service you need.

Langtons can cater for multiple payroll types and frequencies. The payroll can consist of multiple hourly rates for the same employee, multiple payments and allowances, bonuses, holiday pay methods, backdated pay awards as well as the usual statutory payments and deductions.

We will always send your payroll reports/data through a secure email service which complies with GDPR regulations meaning that your employee’s data is always safe.

Yes, 100%. We will only process payroll information received from the persons you have authorized to do so and once we have processed the payroll, you or your authorized representative will be asked to review and approve the payroll reports.

As an employer you will need to register with HM Revenue and Customs. Registration involves answering several questions about your business structure, so you will need to have certain information. Once completed HMRC will issue you an employer’s starter pack through the post and supply you with your PAYE reference numbers and an Accounts Office Number. If you need help, we can assist with PAYE registration for your business, to make the process simple and hassle free. We then recommend implementing a suitable payroll service to properly pay your employees and keep on top of your obligations.

You will require the new employees:

• Full name
• Date of birth
• Home address
• National Insurance Number
• If an employee is a foreign national, you should satisfy yourself they have permission to be employed in the United Kingdom. This can be checked by contacting the Department of Work & Pensions for advice.

Once you have this information, we can set up the employee to be paid.

A director involved in the day to day running of a limited company is seen as both an employer and an employee. If you are to be paid a salary from the business, you will need to set up a PAYE scheme with HMRC and register as an employer. You can then be added as an employee on the payroll and be paid your salary. We can handle all of that for you!

If you need to make an adjustment, we can rerun your payroll and resend you the payroll reports. However, there may be an additional payslip charge for this. In the unlikely event that we have made an error on the payroll no additional charge would be made for us to re-run.

We ask to receive your payroll data 48 hours before the payments need to be processed so we can deal with any queries that may arise. Shorter processing times however can be discussed, and agreed with, your designated payroll specialist.
